Tata Sky slashes price of set top boxes
The special promotional offer is to attract new customers into its DTH fold even as the cable TV digitisation deadline nears
In the build up to the digitisation deadline, Tata Sky has announced a special promotion to encourage people to install set top boxes (STBs) before the deadline.
Tata Sky’s promotional offer includes a Tata Sky SD set top box and an installation cost of Rs 1,390.
Announcing the new pricing, Harit Nagpal, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Sky, said, “Tata Sky welcomes the digitisation initiative by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, supported by the TRAI. Analogue cable customers will need to buy a set top box before October 31. To show our complete support towards the digitisation initiative, Tata Sky is taking a price drop of Rs 200 to make DTH even more affordable for consumers. We are confident that this pricing will catapult the process of digitisation across the country and will help boost the Government’s efforts to digitise India on the set deadline.”
With just 57 days left for D-Day, several DTH players are coming up with different offers and promotion campaigns. Many of them are doing 360 degree promotions, whole some are ramping up their services and also introducing new direct to home technology.
