Award winning host Koel Purie is back with the second edition of The Couch Awards 2011. The awards show is Purie’s way of honouring the eminent personalities who have appeared on her talk show, ‘On the Couch with Koel’, in the year 2011. It’s a fresh take on awards as it’s based on Purie’s personal experiences with celebrities.
‘On the couch with Koel’, which airs every Saturday on Headlines Today at 7:30 pm, is known for its diverse celebrity line-up. Purie’s red couch has witnessed Indian hotshots like MF Husain, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kiran Bedi and international public figures like James Cameron, General Musharraf, Sarah Palin, Lady Gaga and Salman Rushdie.
Last season, The Couch Awards 2010 gave two lucky viewers the opportunity to meet Shah Rukh Khan. In response to the overwhelming participation last year, the stakes have been raised, as have the prizes. This year, there will be not one, but many winners who will get the chance to co-host the awards show with Purie. Selected participants will also win mobile phones.
A special nomination episode will be aired on December 17, 2011, at 7.30 pm, while the award night episode will be aired on December 24, 2011 at 7:30 pm.
