IRS 2010 Q4: HT & TOI see decline in Uttarakhand

Hindi daily Hindustan has seen double digit growth in AIR in Uttarakhand, while English dailies TOI and HT have registered decline in readership.

With a loss of 8,000 readers in the fourth Quarter of 2010, the Any English dailies have received an average issue readership (AIR) of 1.15 lakh in Uttarakhand. However, Any Hindi dailies have seen marginal growth in Q4 results of IRS and recorded an AIR of 14.39 lakh.

Meanwhile, barring Amar Ujala and Hindustan, the performance of the other broadsheet dailies have been depressing in the state in the Q4 results of IRS. While Amar Ujala has witnessed a growth of 0.62 per cent in Q4, Hindustan has grown with the double digit growth of 13.06 per cent.

Among the other Hindi dailies in the state, Dainik Jagran, Rashtriya Sahara and Punjab Kesari have seen de-growth as per the Q4 results of IRS.

The English newspaper domain has also seen negative growth in the state. The Times of India has registered a 5.68 per cent decline in AIR as against the Q3 results. Similarly, Hindustan Times has also recorded negative growth of 11.43 per cent in IRS 2010 Q4.
