Superheroes to resurface with Gotham Comics
The kids’ readership space is set to become interesting with Gotham Comics deciding to relaunch in a new avatar.
The Indian kids’ readership space is set to get slightly more interesting. Virgin, Marvel and Gotham Comics have joined hands to create a new wave of comics in Indian style, continuing to be players in the fun and entertainment segment.
An official communiqué stated: “Considering the influence of comic books, Marvel and Gotham Comics have reinvented the classic legend of one of the superheroes, Spiderman, entwining his origins, powers and even his very costume with local customs, culture and mystery of modern day India.”
The creative aspect of the venture will be spearheaded by the likes of Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor and author Deepak Chopra.
The other superheroes include Batman, Superman, X-Men and Fantastic Four amongst others.
