Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Gold released its trailer on Monday. The movie combines hockey and patriotism. Besides Akshay, Gold has a powerful ensemble cast that includes Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Bollywood debutante Mouni Roy.
The trailer opens with a voice-over announcing the words, “Gold, British India,” and an intense-looking Akshay giving the stare to the British flag. It is a fictional story set against the backdrop of true incidents around India winning its first hockey gold medal as a free nation in the 1948 Summer Olympics.
