Arvind Vohra steps down as CEO and MD, Gionee India
He will continue as the company’s executive director
Arvind Vohra, Gionee India's CEO and MD, has stepped down after leading the company for almost five years. He will continue as the company’s executive director.
Media reports point towards a replacement who is likely to be a senior executive from the China operations. Gionee started its India operations in 2012 and has been competing with the likes of Xiaomi and Lenovo.
The Shenzen-headquarted company recorded revenue of $1.4 billion in India since its inception in India until December last year and is reported to increase revenues by 2.5x by the end of ongoing fiscal.
