Vivo India is planning a major reshuffle of its India management. According to reliable sources, the announcement is likely to be made public soon.

Sources also reveal that Vivek Zhang, Chief Marketing Officer, Vivo India is likely to get a new role.

When contacted, a Vivo India spokesperson did not deny the news. “There are ongoing discussions about new management roles but nothing concrete has come up yet,” stated the spokesperson.

Among the Chinese smartphone brands in India, Vivo has opted for a more aggressive stance.  Be it the title sponsorship deal worth Rs 2, 199 crore for IPL (for five years) or the Rs 300 crore sponsorship deal with Pro Kabaddi League, Vivo has pulled all stops to capture 18% market share in about two years.

While sharing Vivo’s game plan for India, Vivek Zhang in a recent interview with exchage4media had stated, “We are focused on reaching out to customers across segments. We have worked towards establishing a robust offline distribution network. India is a dynamic smartphone market which consists of users spread across various parts of the country. Having established strong brand equity in the Indian market, we will be rolling out more handsets in the Indian market targeted towards youth. Apart from this we have a few announcements planned during the year but we will be able to elaborate further only at a later stage.”
