MIB looking for agencies to monitor news reports

The ministry wants ‘professionally summarised’ reports to be prepared and officials to be updated thrice a day

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has been looking for agencies to monitor media reports, news networks reported.

The ministry wants the agency to prepare “professionally summarised” reports and update officials three times a day.

This is an attempt to standardise feedback gathering in the government that as of now is being done by every ministry, the Press Information Bureau, the Electronic Media Monitoring Centre and the New Media wing of the IB ministry, an official said. “But there is nothing for digital media on a daily basis. Reports are prepared only when there is an issue," the official said.
