Obituary: Professor KM Shrivastava passes away
Professor Shrivastava collapsed at the Nizammuddin Railway Station where he had gone to board a train for Bhopal
Professor KM Shrivastava, the senior-most professor at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), passed away on Friday in New Delhi. He was 63.
According to media reports, he collapsed at the Nizammuddin Railway Station where he had gone to board a train for Bhopal soon after returning to Delhi from IIMC-Jammu. He was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was declared brought dead.
Shrivastava was professor at IIMC for more than 25 years. His contribution to the national mass communication institute has been enormous. He held various media courses for the Indian Army and the Territorial Army in IIMC.
He started working as a journalist in 1978 with the hindi news agency Hindustan Samachar. He was the plenary speaker at the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Conference in Glasgow on the subject of Constraints in Communication. He was also an IAMCR delegate to the UN World Summit on Information Society.
