Planet Marathi has reportedly secured a $5 million investment from A&MA Capital, which will be pumping more money into the streaming platform over the next two quarters.

Founder Akshay Bardapurkar told a media house that the company is committed to growing the Indian regional entertainment space with the investment and is prepared to bolster its offerings and its content space.

The report also said that media tech company Dcafe has entered a strategic agreement with Planet Marathi OTT to support the latter’s tech capabilities.

The Marathi streaming site was founded in 2020 during the lockdown days to plug the major gap in the entertainment market with quality Marathi content.

The platform now boasts web series, short films, talk shows, events, music videos and the like.
