Raj Nayak, Chief Executive, NDTV Media, and currently President of International Advertising Association’s (IAA) India chapter, has been unanimously chosen to be head of the Indian delegation to the forthcoming AdAsia in Kuala Lumpur in October 2009.

The delegation in 2005 was headed by Bharat Patel from the Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA), while in 2007, it was Madhukar Kamath on behalf of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI). In 2009, it is the turn of a representative from the media to head the Indian delegation.

This would also be the first time that someone from the broadcast medium is heading the delegation. Nayak’s name was proposed by the various bodies, including the Advertising Club Mumbai, AAAI, the News Broadcasters Association (NBA) and the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF).

A formal announcement is expected to be made at the Ad Club Media Review, which is being held in the evening of July 17, 2009 in Mumbai. A delegation from the organisers of AdAsia in Kuala Lumpur is also expected to make a presentation.
