After a four-year stint, Sanjay Bhutiani, CEO, BR films has put in his papers at the company. His replacement plans were not known at the time of filing the story. As for Bhutiani’s destination next, he is currently weighing various options in the films and media entertainment space.

In the last four years, Bhutiani examined the financial structure of BR Films and was able to create a new business model and a remunerative funding option for the organisation in the face of a challenging and complex business agenda.

In the current financial year BR Films is scheduled to launch five feature films and a few television soaps for various channels.

Bhutiani was instrumental in kick-starting Leo Burnett’s Leo Entertainment and Percept’s P9. He started his career in 1986 in Mudra Communications as a management trainee. He launched Moov and Symphony. In his span of career, he has worked with companyies like Triton, Kinetic Engineering, Leo Burnett and P9 Integrated.

Then in 2006, he joined BR films as CEO with the mandate to leapfrog it from a ‘single film every two years’ company since its inception five decades ago, to the ‘next level’.
