The teddy bearish smiling man: Rashmi Deshpande
When I first heard the news about Rohinton’s demise, I was in turmoil to see the name of a friend scrolling in the ‘missing’ list on Wednesday on TV suddenly become a past.

Rohinton and I clicked off when he began his association with Broadmind of GroupM. He and I shared the podium at the Human Capital Forum as speakers for two consecutive years. One clear conversation in mind is when I left GroupM and his call to encourage me in my next step in life. It was touching as he rattled what he thought I had brought to the table, what I will carry with me, and what more I can do in life ahead in the HR space.
A conversation that was so structured that even as I remember the teddy bearish smiling man, I replay the conversation in my head. What I particularly liked about this conversation was he gave me a perspective of my capabilities, of GroupM’s contribution to my life and what lies ahead. He brought a smile to my face and a feel-good realisation from all sides.
Few have the ability to do what Rohinton did for me via a conversation. I want to remember this Rohinton in that conversation forever. May his soul rest in peace.
