Friday Gurgaon, the weekly English newspaper from Gurgaon, completed one year last week. It celebrated its anniversary with a special 24-page edition. The paper carried a snapshot of the work it has done in the entire year.

On completing one year, Editor-in-Chief and Owner, Atul Sobti said, “Media is a different field and this industry was very new for me. I had set some goals and I achieved them. People now know this paper as a family newspaper.”

“There are some key focus areas for the next anniversary and I believe we will make this newspaper a family habit. The circulation figure is something we are giving priority,” he added.

Talking to exchange4media, Ankit Srivastava, Head - Sales and Marketing, Friday Gurgaon, said, “We are pleased with our performance. We are setting our goal for next year as we have achieved the desired aims that we set last year.”

He claimed that the paper had grown 200 per cent in terms of print run and this year the effort would be to be at least the No. 2 player. It may be noted that currently Hindustan Times and The Times of India are the two top players in Gurgaon.

In order to increase reach and the number of subscriptions, Friday Gurgaon has launched an offer of Rs 200 for the calendar year. Promotional activities are being carried out during weekends in different malls around the city. Meanwhile, plans are afoot to embark on an outdoor campaign that includes hoardings and ads on Metro pillars.
