PCI tells print media to verify credibility while posting job ads
Credentials of the organisation or person should be verified to establish their bona fides before booking job ads for private companies or under Government or Semi-Government schemes or programmes
The Press Council of India has recently advised print media players to adhere to the norms of journalistic conduct while publishing employment-related advertisements.
They have been advised by PCI to cross-check the credentials of the company, organisation, institution or person and carry out proper verification to establish their bona fides before booking advertisements of employment by private companies or under Government or Semi-Government schemes or programmes.
This action has been initiated to protect the vulnerable unemployed youth from fraudsters.
“Newspaper organisations must have a proper advertisement booking policy in place to contain misleading advertisements,” said the council in a press statement.
