Following charges of sexual misconduct, Tehelka Founder-Editor Tarun Tejpal’s name has been withdrawn from the Prasar Bharati Board.
As is known, Tejpal’s name was one of the two names recommended as members of the Prasar Bharati Board on November 19, 2013 by a panel headed by the Vice President of India, Mohammed Hamid Ansari.
However, since the news broke on November 20 about the charges levelled against Tejpal by a female journalist working with Tehelka, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was asked to cancel Tejpal’s selection.
Meanwhile, Goa Police has registered an FIR against Tejpal on charges of attempt to rape.
