Two radio players announced the launch of their stations in the past week. While Reliance ADAG-owned Big FM began operations in Mangalore, Sun TV’s S FM started its Pondicherry station through its subsidiary Kal Radio.

The launch in Mangalore has taken Big FM’s count to 39 operational stations, six short of its limit of 45 stations. On the other hand, with the launch in Pondicherry, S FM will be operational in 14 stations and will be rolling out 31 more stations across the country.

Kamal Mohandas, Karnataka and Kerala Cluster Head, Big FM, said, “Our radio ensures greater penetration and reach, and with programmes like ‘Suprabhata’, ‘Big Kudla’, ‘Churmuri’, ‘Mangalore Bundi’ and ‘Love Madi Nodu’, we are sure to rule the entertainment space of the people. Our programmes have been put together after understanding local requirements, as it is our endeavour to create content that is relevant, credible and with an aspirational value for the listeners.”
