HT Media Group to 'shut down' Fever FM
Some reports later said that the message put out by the company on social media was a marketing gimmick
HT Media Group will be shutting down Fever FM, Ramesh Menon, CEO of Audio Business, has said.
In a social media post, Ramesh Menon said, “We have made this difficult decision to shut down our station. This decision comes after careful consideration and is due to the evolving trends in the media industry. The management would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to RJs, advertisers, partners, employees and the listeners who built and supported this station in its journey. Your loyalty and contribution have played a significant role in sustaining the station for as long as it operated.”
Some reports later said that it was a marketing gimmick by the company.
Many employees also expressed their gratitude and dismay over this decision.
Monalisa Mandal, VP- Marketing, Fever FM, said, “After more than four years with this company, it's a sad way to part ways. I feel disheartened by this news, knowing that a significant chapter is coming to an end.”
She added, “However my experiences here will forever remain a part of my professional journey. I extend my gratitude to all my colleagues and peers who have been a constant support. ľm deeply thankful to the company for shaping my professional journey thus far.”
Shrikant Iyer, Head of Audio Production and Producer Creative Ideation, said, “Thanks a lot for all the memories. It has been an incredible journey of experiments and learning… will miss every moment spent here. Looking forward to new challenges and opportunities.”
Peeyush Singh, Head of Content at Fever FM added, “Not the end that one dreams of. But all good things end at some point. Wishing everyone a happy journey post this.”
While many expressed disappointment, a few took this to be a publicity stunt as well.
A commenter said, “Hope it's not a joke, If it is, it's in a very bad taste!”
