Radio Mirchi plays host to ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’
Along with television, radio is now increasingly being used by Bollywood to create hype around a new release
The Radio Mirchi studio recently got a visit from the star cast of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. The movie, directed, co-written and produced by Anurag Kashyap, has received much critical acclaim and is now readying for the release of its second part.
As part of the movie’s promotional drive, actor Manoj Bajpai visited visited the Mirchi studio to chat about the movie on June 13, 2012.
Radio Mirchi featured a special segment on ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and also aired songs from the movie on June 21, 2012 from 7 am to 11 am.
This special segment was hosted by RJ Anant and Saurav. Actress Huma Qureshi also joined Bajpai at the Mirchi studio. Qureshi made her Bollywood debut with ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. Both the actors shared interesting trivia about the movie – the shooting of the film, preparing for their complex roles and the experience of being part of the film.
Playing their part, the Radio Mirchi staff welcomed the star cast of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ by wearing ‘gamchas’ to create excitement and fun on the show.
