Sudha Sadanand joins Big FM as Radio Operations Head for Delhi

Big FM, the radio initiative of Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd (RBNL), has brought on board Sudha Sadanand as the Radio Operations Head for Delhi. In this capacity Sadanand will oversee all aspects related to programming, technical and promotions for the station. She will report to Soumen G Choudhury, Business Head, 92.7 Big FM.

In her new role, Sadanand will be responsible for increasing the market share of Big FM’s Delhi station, its on-air programming and the entertainment being served to audiences each day. Her key responsibilities include consumer understanding based market research, surveys, promotions and radio operations for Big FM Delhi station.

Commenting on Sadanand’s appointment, Soumen G Choudhury, Business Head, 92.7 Big FM, said, “Sudha has a remarkable understanding of listeners’ preferences, and music, and she has honed these skills even further in the various media houses that she has been associated with. Sudha’s versatility, coupled with an enviable knowledge of the music space, is a talent-mix that is sure to create a key differentiator in the FM radio business. We are quite confident that Sudha will further invigorate the programming and content on the station and take it closer to the heart of the listeners.”

On her new responsibility, Sadanand commented, “Radio is an extremely dynamic medium to be in. The challenges and opportunities that it provides are simply exhilarating. She has around 15 years of experience in the media and communication space. This is Sadanand’s second innings at Big FM. During her previous stint, she was Programming Head for Delhi and had introduced blockbuster programmes like ‘100 Chartbusters’ to the existing repertoire.

In her last assignment, she was VP - Programming with Fox International Channels and took care of National Geographic Channel and helped launch Fox History and Entertainment in India and initiated localised content for the brand. Prior to NGC, she was a primetime anchor and producer at Times Now and was a regular face on Prime Time news along with Arnab Goswami and Mini Menon. She was also the producer of ‘Upfront’, a primetime show on the channel.

Sadanand has also worked at key positions with news channels like India TV and TVi.
