Taking a road different from the bandwagon of general entertainment programmes in other channels, Amrita TV has launched the second season of its show ‘Sandhya Deepam’. The show, which went on air on May 12, captures the mood and ambience of the auspicious twilight, illuminating the homes in Kerala and the rest of South India.

The programme will be aired Monday to Friday at 6.30 pm. Through this programme, Amrita TV seeks to bridge the cultural divide and help the overseas Indian audience to keep their future generations abreast of their roots back home.

The format of the programme involves having an engaging and knowledgeable anchor inviting viewers to share and observe the spiritual practices followed in homes. The programme takes a fresh look at the devotional aspect of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage based on ancient scriptures, which is somewhat treading the path to oblivion.

The programme will feature scholars on Vedic studies, religious studies and spirituality, including a tour to famous places of worship, and the stories and myths surrounding various holy places.
