Anjana Om Kashyap is a prominent name in Hindi journalism and one of the most firebrand news anchors whose unique style of reporting has a dedicated fan following. The journalist, known for her sharp questioning style and courageous manner of reporting, celebrates her birthday today on June 12.
In a short span, Kashyap not only honed her talent but also won over the audience across the country.
Her coverage of the Delhi Gang Rape created a stir in the entire country when she uncovered on live television how unsafe Delhi is at night for women.
Kashyap is also known for her meticulous coverage of the Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections. She has also interviewed India’s prominent political personalities, including Indian PM Narendra Modi.
With a diploma in journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia, she began her journey with Doordarshan hosting the crime show Aankho Dekhi.
She then joined Zee News where she became a part of the team of the TV program Special Report telecast at 9.30 pm. Kashyap also started anchoring with Zee News. While staying there she anchored Jago India and the news program Badi Khabar telecast at 10 pm. Her biggest coverage was the Prince Episode from Kurukshetra.
After working for five years in Zee News, she joined News24 where anchored the debate show Do Tuk which aired at 8 oclock. After working there for four years, Kashayp joined Star News (now ABP News). Not only did she anchor shows like Badi Bahas, but she also went to other cities and did many debate shows for Star News.
Now she works for Aaj Tak as a senior executive editor in the role of a senior anchor and correspondent.
Debating on political issues is Kashyap's favourite subject. With more than a decade and a half of experience in television, Kashyap is among the most influential voices who continue to inspire scores of aspiring anchors who wish to make it in the world of Hindi journalism.
