The tragic news of Arun Nautiyal's passing has shaken all of us in the news industry. Arun Nautiyal belonged to a generation of journalists who treated work and company as worship and temple. His demise will haunt the newsrooms of Noida, which are filled with talented, hardworking unsung heroes, anchors, and reporters. He was rare.

For 20 years that I worked with Star News/ABP News, I usually came early and mostly left at 8 PM. One person who I always found present was Arun Nautiyal. He was always there. Editors under whom he worked knew they could depend on Arun for accuracy and timely delivery. He was always very careful about what to say and how to say it. The scripts he wrote were balanced and fair, but in real life, he was full of humor and anecdotes. He never missed an opportunity to make you laugh.

Arun will be remembered fondly. In today's world, when leaders prioritize comfort and favorites to run organizations, he valued those who worked harder, possessed deep intellect, and had a commitment to the company before anything else. Many successful news anchors today are those whom Arun guided and promoted.

Arun was a centrist, which made him rare. He called a spade a spade and had the courage to tell business executives that their unsolicited suggestions were not welcome.

God has taken him away too soon. I hope those who worked with him will carry forward the great values he always displayed at work. That would be the best tribute to him.
