The Madras High Court has further extended the digitisation deadline for Chennai till Friday, November 9, 2012.
The petition was filed by Chennai Metro Cable Operators Association (CMCOA) in the High Court in quest for extension of digitisation deadline for three months. In the previous decision on October 31, Madras HC had pushed the deadline for implementation of digitisation in Chennai till November 5, which ended yesterday.
Talking to exchange4media MR Srinivasan, General Secretary, CMCOA said, “The High Court asked the government lawyers whether there are adequate set top boxes in Chennai to meet the digitisation deadline. In response, the lawyers appealed for another hearing.”
As earlier reported, Chennai has been lagging behind in installing the boxes. LCOs and MSOs had assumed that the deadline will be pushed again.
Analogue connection will be status quo till Friday.
