DD FreeDish Auction Day 3: Six news channels buy slots for Rs 112 crore
The slots were picked up by Zee News, NDTV, Aaj Tak, ABP News, News18 and R Bharat
On Day 3 of the DD FreeDish auction for MPEG-2 slots, six news channels bought slots for a total of Rs 112.25 crore. Zee News and NDTV have bagged the first two slots for Rs 18.75 crore each. The third slot was picked up by Aaj Tak for Rs 18.85 crore. ABP News, News18 and R Bharat bagged the other three slots for Rs 18.95 crore, Rs 18.95 crore and Rs 18 crore, respectively.
These slots were part of Bucket C which consist of News and current affairs (Hindi/Urdu). The base price of the bucket is Rs 7 crore.
The slots are being allotted for a period of one year, from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025.
The third day auction began with Bucket B which comprises music, sports, all channels of bhojpuri language and all other remaining genres of Hindi/Urdu with a base price of Rs 10 crore.
The bucket had six slots which were secured by Chumbak, Showbox, Flimchi Bhojpuri, B4U Music, Sports18 and Manoranjan Prime. The entire bucket collected revenue of Rs 103.1 crore.
