Editorial engagement between WION and Vikram Chandra’s Editorji ends
As part of the agreement, Vikram Chandra hosted two shows for WION
The editorial engagement between WION and Editorji, owned by renowned journalist Vikram Chandra, has come to an end.
The contract was initially executed for one year, ending in January 2024. However, it was extended by two months till February 29, 2024. As part of the contract, Vikram Chandra hosted two shows for WION.
Confirming the news to e4m, Chandra said, “Editorji was aired under a licensing deal with WION for a year which came to an end in January. We kept extending the licence for two more months but now we have decided not to renew it since I have to focus on election coverage which will be aired on Editorji digital channel itself.”
Before Editorji, Chandra was associated with NDTV as their news anchor for more than 22 years and hosted shows such as Big Fight, Gadget Guru, 9 o'clock News, the Greenathon.
WION and Chandra came together to present two weekly news shows - The India Story and This World-in January 2023 on both WION linear and digital. The prime objective of the two shows was to help the viewers understand major global events from a uniquely Indian perspective.
e4m had reported about the incorporation of partnership in November 2022.
