enba 2023: ABP Network, Aaj Tak, India Today, NDTV 24X7 win top honours
Vineet Jain gets Lifetime Achievement Award, Avinash Pandey honoured with CEO of the Year title
The 16th edition of the exchange4media news broadcasting awards (enba) was held on Saturday, March 30 at The Imperial, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The dazzling awards night honoured the best in the Indian broadcast news industry. enba recognizes the best in Television news and rewards broadcasters and industry leaders who are responsible for shaping the future of Television Broadcasting in India. The awards aim to celebrate excellence in television news within India and focus on acknowledging outstanding broadcasters and industry leaders.
At the spectacular awards ceremony, Vineet Jain, Managing Director, Times Group, was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ while ABP Network CEO Avinash Pandey bagged the ‘CEO of the Year’ title. The ‘enba editorial maverick of the year 2023’ title was given to Supriya Prasad, News Director, Aaj Tak, India Today & GNT. India Today’s Rahul Kanwal won the award in the ‘News Television – News Director/Editor-in-Chief / Managing Editor/News Editor of the Year- English’ category while Sanjay Pugalia of NDTV won the award in the ‘News Television – News Director / Editor-in-Chief / Managing Editor / News Editor of the Year- Hindi’ category.
The ‘News Channel of The Year- Hindi’ award was given to Aaj Tak while ABP News was the first runner-up in this category. Meanwhile, India Today bagged the ‘News Channel of The Year- English’ award while NDTV 24X7 was the first runner-up in this category. The ‘Young Professional of the Year- English’ was given to Vedant Agarwal of NDTV while Asawari Jindal of NewsX was the first runner-up. Meanwhile, the ‘Young Professional of the Year- Hindi’ award was bagged by Gunjan Dixit of Good News Today, Priyanshi Chaudhary of ABP News was the first runner up and Anamika Gaur of Good News Today was the second runner-up in this category.
Coming to the medal tally, India Today & Aaj Tak won a total of 108 metals. The channels won 59 golds, 28 silver and 21 bronze metals across categories. Meanwhile, ABP News won 50 metals in total across categories including 21 golds, 21 silver and 6 bronze metals and 2 special jury mentions. NDTV took home 43 metals including 11 gold, 20 silver and 12 bronze metals across categories while NewsX & India News bagged a total of 40 metals including 9 gold, 12 silver and 19 bronze across categories.
enba awards were given under seven broad categories – Programming, Personality, Marketing, Digital Media, International news, Overall Excellence and Special Awards which were further divided into several sub-categories. The awards were presented after a meticulous jury process by luminaries across the political, social, and business ecosystem.
