Essel Group's Head of Finance & Strategy Himanshu Mody resigns
Mody's resignation comes days after Subhash Chandra announced his decision to step down as Chairman of the company
It has been reported that Himanshu Mody, Head of Finance and Strategy of Essel Group has resigned. The news comes days after Subhash Chandra announced that he will be stepping down as Chairman of the company.
According to reports, Mody led Essel Group's Finance and Strategy in Media and Entertainment, News & Information, Education, Infrastructure, Gold Refinery, Gaming, Wellness and Lifestyle. He is also believed to be a close confidante of Chandra and played a key role in the entire divestment process.
Mody was instrumental in the launch of the group's multiplex & lifestyle brand, Fun Republic and drove the company's venture into the sports industry with India’s first private cricket league – ICL (Indian Cricket League). Mody was also responsible for the acquisition of Ten Sports in 2006 and its subsequent sale to Sony Pictures Networks.
