Frank Noronha retires as Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau
Noronha will be replaced by Sitanshu Kar as Principal Director General of PIB. Kar, a 1983 batch IIS officer, has previously served as Director General, News Services Division, at All India Radio.
Frank Noronha, the Prinicipal Spokesperson, Government of India, and Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau, Publicity Wing of the Central Government, has retired.
Noronha, a 1982 batch IIS officer who took over in 2014, will be replaced by Sitanshu Kar as Principal Director General of PIB, according to a statement from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Sitanshu Kar, a 1983 batch IIS officer, has previously served as Director General, News Services Division, at All India Radio. Prior to that Kar served as the spokesperson of the Defence Ministry, which he had joined in 2005.
As spokesperson of Defence Ministry, he worked with four Defence Ministers – Pranab Mukherjee, AK Antony, Arun Jaitley and Manohar Parrikar.
