Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has given permission to BCCI for temporary live uplinking of IPL tournament's 11th edition that begins from 7 April, 2018.

"Permission for temporary live uplinking of IPL tournament's 11th edition has been granted," a well-placed source in the ministry told exchange4media. According to a report in an English daily, BCCI had written a letter urgently asking for the permission.
The letter, as per the report was signed by BCCI secretary Amitab Choudhary, which stated, “I write on behalf of the BCCI, the owner and licensor of media rights for the IPL 2018 (“the Event”). The Event is scheduled to commence on 07 April 2018 and we understand that the broadcaster, Star India Private Ltd, has made a compliant application to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for permission of temporary live uplinking of the Event starting 06 April 2018 (inaugural ceremony).”

The BCCI letter came after a complaint was filed by Star India Pvt Ltd. Star India had bought consolidated rights in September 2017 for an amount of over Rs 16,347 crore.
