A guide to what some Indian TV Channels have planned for December 31 for homebodies

Several Hindi general entertainment channels are all set to welcome 2018 with a special programming line-up. While some channels like Star Plus and Zee TV are airing film industry's popular award functions, others including Star Bharat and Sony have left the programming line-up unchanged.

Star Plus
Star Plus will be airing one of Indian film industry’s biggest awards show, Star Screen awards 2018, on December 31 at 8 pm.

Stars that graced this awards show were Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Kriti Sanon, Illeana D’cruz, Tiger Shroff, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Vidya Balan and Irrfan Khan among others.

The host for the evening, Salman Khan, took the centre stage with Varun Dhawan and had the audience mesmerized with their charm and chemistry.

Zee TV

Zee TV too will celebrate the New Year with an awards ceremony, Zee Cine Awards 2018. The award function will be aired on December 31 at 8 pm. The channel has roped in Brook Bond Red Label as the presenting sponsor. With the best of Bollywood biggies bringing their finest performances of 2017, the show is a perfect cocktail of glamour and cinematic brilliance.

Amongst the celebrities who won hearts at the red carpet were Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sidharth Malhotra and many more.

Colors

On NYE, Colors has planned to celebrate with Bigg Boss. The channel will also air Mirchi Music Awards at 2 pm and 5 pm on the last day of 2017.

&TV

&TV too choose a different path for the celebrations. The channels’ popular singing reality show ‘The Voice India Kids’ is creating waves because of the outstanding talent, which has impressed not just the audience but many in the industry as well.

Neha Kakkar and Badshah will celebrate the New Year’s Eve with the team of The Voice India. Badshah’s opening act will be the popular chartbusters Mercy and DJ Wale Babu, while Kakkar will croon Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast. Together both the artistes will also be seen performing Ladki Beautiful Kar Gayi Chul. The show will be aired on December 31 at 9 pm.

Big Magic

Big Magic is all set to celebrate in the story format.

One of its shows, Kunwara Hai Par Hamara Hai, will witness actress Vindya Tiwari's special act on NYE. Whereas in the show, Hum Paanch Ab Aaega Asli Mazaa, there is going to be a celebration in the village. Shows like Deewane Anjane will have a dance competition for the best Jodi Award. In Tera Baap Mera Baap, all characters will perform on hit songs of 2017.
