INS AGM on Sept 27; M V Shreyams Kumar likely to be appointed new president

Indian Newspaper Society (INS) is likely to elect M V Shreyams Kumar as their new president for the next one year’s term. He currently holds the position of Deputy President of INS. This decision will be taken in the 85th Annual General Meeting on September 27, 2024.


Rakesh Sharma held the President’s position for the term 2023-24 at INS. According to sources, Kumar will takeover the baton from him.


Presently, Kumar is the Managing Director of Mathrubhumi newspaper and former member of Janata Dal (United) party.


In 2000, he became the Director of Marketing and Electronic Media of Mathrubhumi newspaper. Kumar did his PGDBA from Kings Langley College of Management, London.


The agenda for the upcoming AGM of INS will focus on key financial and administrative matters.


The society will receive, consider, and adopt the Annual Report and Audited Accounts for the year ending March 31, 2024, including the balance sheet and profit and loss statement.


Additionally, the AGM will address the re-appointment of M/s. Khanna & Annadhanam as Statutory Auditors for a five-year term and fix their remuneration.


The meeting will also include the election of members to the Executive Committee.
