Nikhil Gandhi has quit as VP and Head of Revenue Media Networks Disney India, confirm industry sources.
In this role, Gandhi was responsible for generating revenue and creating profitability across all the eight channels in the Disney India bouquet which include Youth channels bindass and bindass PLAY, Kids Channels Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD and Hungama TV and Movies channels UTV Movies and UTV Action.
As the head of revenue, he looked into the ad- sales opportunities for the cluster along with leading both the domestic and international distribution arm of the Media Networks business.
Along with exploring profitable ad sales opportunities, Gandhi also spear-headed unique media solutions division called the Disney Media Plus that offers commercial opportunities generated by the Disney universe in India in addition to creating specialized properties under the bindass brand.
Gandhi leverages over 15 years of experience in the Media and Entertainment business.
Before assuming his current role, he was the Business Head of Youth Channels. His past experiences include a stint with Zoom Television as ‘Regional Head West’, MTV (Viacom 18) and Times Response (Times group). He was part of the core team at Zoom during the launch of the channel in 2004.
Disney India did not comment on the development at the time of the filing the report.
