Pooja Duggal quits ZMCL as Head of Human Resources

Pooja Duggal has resigned from her position as the Head of Human Resources at Zee Media, marking the end of her tenure with the organization. Duggal, who joined Zee Media in May 2023, brought with her over two decades of rich experience in HR management across various industries. Her last working day at ZMCL will be Septemebr 15, 2024.
During her time at Zee Media, Duggal was responsible for driving the company’s HR strategy, with a focus on talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development. Her leadership was aimed at aligning the HR functions with the company’s broader goals, fostering a culture of growth, inclusion, and innovation within the organization.
Duggal's departure from Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) comes amid a period of significant churn within the organization. This follows the recent departure of Mona Jain, who also left the company after a notable tenure.
When e4m editor reached out to Duggal for comments and confirmation on her move, she said: “As the CHRO, I am the custodian of all such information and cannot divulge details of any employee, including myself.”
Before joining Zee Media, she was the Head of Human Resources at HT Digital Streams from September 2022 to June 2023. In this role, she led the HR function for HT Media's digital business, managing a headcount of 700 employees and driving the people strategy to support business growth. She was also the Vice President of Human Resources at HT Media Ltd, where she contributed significantly to the print business of HT Media, including brands like HT, Hindustan, and Mint. Duggal was involved in talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, and talent management, helping the company achieve its business and people development goals.
Her career journey also includes a notable tenure as the Head of HR for the Energy Product Business at Raychem RPG Ltd. from January 2014 to April 2019. Here, she was responsible for integrating business strategies with HR objectives and creating a positive and productive work environment across multiple locations. At Jindal Steel & Power Ltd., she served as the Global HR Manager for JSPL Global Ventures, where she managed HR operations across various international locations, implemented an employee engagement framework, and designed strategic leadership processes that aligned business goals with individual scorecards.
Earlier in her career, Duggal worked with MTS - Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd as Lead - HR Strategy & Organization Development. She was involved in developing strategic HR systems and processes, such as competency frameworks and incentive programs, to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement. She also worked as a consultant with Right Management, focusing on leadership development and talent management for Fortune 100 companies across various industries. Duggal began her career in software testing at HCL Technologies, where she managed projects and client interfacing, contributing to the overall success of software products like Real Player and Real Producer.
