Banerjee will replace Nachiket Pantvaidya, who quit STAR India in September to join Multi Screen Media Group

Star Plus appoints Gaurav Banerjee as General Manager

Gaurav Banerjee will replace Nachiket Pantvaidya as new General Manager of Star Plus. Pantvaidya had quit STAR India in September to join Multi Screen Media Group.

Banerjee came to Star Plus in October 2009 and played a pivotal role in shaping content around ‘Rishta Wahi Soch Nayi’ theme. Prior to this, he anchored prime time news at Star News and was also its Executive Editor. He was also responsible for the launch of Star Ananda and also played a pivotal role in STAR’s regional channel Jalsha.

An alumnus of St Stephen's and MCRC, Jamia, Banerjee also worked with Aaj Tak in 2000. He was the anchor for the war room that covered the Afghan war and elections.

In his previous role at STAR India, he helped shape content strategy for Life OK, in addition to Star Plus where he developed shows such as Mahadev, Diya aur Baati Hum and Sasural Genda Phool.
