Star Plus plans programming rejig to secure impressive ratings
The channel is currently prepping up for the revamp, which will be done by June this year
Star India’s flagship channel and first general entertainment channel, Star Plus is planning to change its content line up. The channel is prepping up for the revamp which is to be completed by June this year.
According to the sources, the fiction shows have failed to get ratings for the channel leading to the channel planning to bring about a content rejig. Also the channel is pulling the plug on its four prime time shows including Ishqbaaz, Naamkarann, Dil Sambhal Ja Zara, and Ikyawann.
Last year in September, Star Plus also pulled the plug on its afternoon band after five months of the launch. As per reports, the reason behind this revamping is the low ratings that is now a matter of concern for the channel. As per BARC data, the shows are failing to garner positive ratings for the channel.
Another source informed that the channel is looking at launching more comedy shows in the coming months. Star is already launching one comedy show, Har Shaakh Pe Ullu Baithaa Hai, which will start from February 26 at 8 pm. The upcoming big properties on Star Plus includes its much-talked about show The King’s Daughters, a remake of a Korean drama. The channel is also planning to bring a spin-off to its one of the most popular shows, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein in order to grab more eyeballs.
As to how successful these show will be, only time will tell.
