TAM ratings: Times Now continues to lead the pack in ratings; India Today TV leads with higher reach in week 23
TAM data for week 23 (May 31 – June 6, 2015) shows India Today Television’s ratings rose to 619 GVTs from 324 GVTs
India Today Television has significantly grown in terms of ratings after it was rebranded from its earlier avatar Headlines Today. However, Times Now continues to lead the pack in terms of viewership, according to TAM data.
As per TAM data week 23 (May 31 – June 6, 2015) All India 1 million+ markets CS 25+, Times Now stood on top with ratings of 888 GVTs in week 23, its previous week of viewership (week 22) stood at 964 GVTs. From week 21 to week 22 it had seen a marginal decline from 988 GVTs in week 21 to 964 GVTs in week 22.

India Today’s ratings rose to 619 GVTs from 324 GVTs last week. The channel saw its ratings on this rise since week 21. In week 22 its ratings increased to 324 GVTs from 262 GVTs in week 21. News X saw its ratings decline to 416 GVTs in week 23 from 487 GVTs in week 22. The channel had seen a larger decline last week as it fell to 487 GVTs from 561 GVTs in week 21.
News 9 gained No.4 spot with an increase to 366 GVTs in week 23 which from the previous week where its ratings stood at 304 GVTs. NDTV 24x7 in week 23 saw its ratings fall to 326 GVTs from 366 GVTs in week 22 and consequently slip to No.5 spot. CNN IBN’s ratings took a hit this week as it declined to 285 GVTs from 345 GVTs in week 22. BBC World News increased to 124 GVTs in week 23 from 88 GVTs in week 22. CNN saw its ratings decline to 55 GVTs in week 23 from 63 GVTs in week 22.
In terms of reach (in 000’s) India Today increased its reach to 2917 in week 23 from 1467 in week 22. It had also increased significantly since week 21 which was 970 to 1467 in week 22. The change from Headlines Today to India Today was implemented on May 23, 2015, this was the last day of week 21, 2015. Times Now on the other hand which was next, in week 23 had a reach of 1678. The reach had increased from 1531 in week 22 to 1678 this week. NDTV 24x7 saw its reach increase in week 23 to 953 from 946 in week 22. News X’s reach increased this week to 857 from 832 in week 22.
