The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has given direct to home (DTH) operator Independent TV one last chance to clear the dues of Antrix Corporation or gface disconnection of transponder service, according to media reports.

The tribunal has directed Independent TV to either to pay Rs 9 crore to Antrix by June 12 or furnish a further bank guarantee of Rs 15 crore by that date, the reports mention. If the DTH operator fails to make the payment, Antrix can bring in effect the impugned disconnection notice.

“In case the petitioner tries to overreach this order by filing any further M.A. or moving any other authority, the respondent would be free to give effect to the disconnection notice at once on coming to know of such move,” media reports quoted the tribunal as stating.

The matter has been posted for next hearing on July 2.
