The multimedia platform, The Print has garnered a fresh round of funding amounting to Rs 3.49 crores from its investor, Ratan Tata. The Print, founded by veteran journalist, Shekhar Gupta, focuses on news related to politics, defence, government policy, economics and other topics.
From its very beginning in 2017, The Print has raised 45 cores from various investors including, Ratan Tata, Uday Kotak, Nandan Nilekani, Ravi Thakran and Vijay Shekhar Sharma, with Tata investing 1.5 crores in the venture.
The Print has retained eminent writers such as, Rama Lakshmi, Manu Pubby and Y.P Rajesh, and also features a special interview format show ‘Off the Cuff’ on NDTV, where celebrity guests from various fields are invited to discuss current affairs.
Before establishing The Print, Gupta had started Mediascape, a platform which launches news products for television, digital and print.
