Alok Kumar has joined Zee Media Media Corporation Limited as the Editor. Kumar was formerly with Times Internet. He announced the move on his LinkedIn profile.

Kumar has previously worked with prominent media houses such as BBC, TV9, Network18, Sahara Media Group and Live India in editorial roles. 

He describes himself as a "bilingual journalist" and has over 19 years of experience in electronic, print and digital media. Kumar specialises in content strategy, SEO and other crucial digital media tools.

Kumar is a 2001 alumni of Indian Institute of Mass Communication. He started his career with Netjaal.com. He moved to UNI in 2002 and looked after the Desk and Reporting for two years. He was then transferred to the Head Office of UNI in New Delhi. After working with the Business, Sports and General Desk for two years, he joined BBC.

Kumar was associated with BBC’s Delhi Office and looked after the radio and online section department for four years. He has to his name many breaking stories. These stories include the case of the then Union Minister of Railways, Laloo Prasad Yadav’s in-laws’ travelling in the train without a ticket and Child trafficking of children during flood in Bihar.
