Avinash Kaul gets portfolio expansion at Network18, Puneet Singhvi to drive product & tech

The restructuring aims to optimise the company's operations, leveraging strengths of both executives

Network18 has announced a restructuring of its leadership team to navigate the rapidly changing media landscape. The company is aiming to enhance its focus on product, technology, and audience growth while simultaneously driving revenue and cost efficiency.

In an internal letter to the company’s senior management sent in mid-July, CEO Rahul Joshi highlighted the challenges faced by the news industry globally and the need to adapt to evolving distribution formats.

“Our linear TV business is relatively stable, and showing some growth, but the landscape of news delivery and distribution formats is evolving rapidly. Artificial intelligence is opening up new possibilities for our business across functions - be it content, product, technology, audiences or monetisation,” he said in the letter.
To achieve these goals, the company has assigned new responsibilities to key executives.

Puneet Singhvi, Chief Executive Officer-Network18 (Digital) & President - Corporate Strategy at Network18 Media & Investments Limited would spearhead digital audience growth, the off-platform business and the establishment and operation of the CoE(Centre of Excellence).

“In addition,Puneet will focus on managing costs overall, which is a top priority in the coming quarters,” said the letter.

Singhvi will also drive relationships and revenues from platforms such as Google, Taboola and Amazon while pursuing partnerships with Al providers, connected TV brands and other emerging distribution entities.

Avinash Kaul, Chief Executive Officer - Network18 ( Broadcast ) & Managing Director A+E Networks, TV18 on the other hand has been will be driving direct revenue growth across TV, Digital and Print, barring Moneycontrol.

He will also continue to drive ratings and the operating verticals of TV and the print business as before.

“Revenue for group, including IPs and branded content, will get a bigger push from Avinash, along with the respective vertical heads/CEOs. All revenue leads/verticals heads/CEOs will work closely with Avinash to deliver on revenue targets,” the letter said.

Both executives will continue to report to Rahul Joshi.
