The DNA is finally taking concrete shape. Ayaz Memon, National Sports Editor of The Times of India and former Editor of Bombay Times, will be the new Editor-at-large and part of the editorial board of the new English daily that will be launched by the Zee-Bhaskar combine.
An enthusiastic Memon said, "I have around 8-10 days left with The Times, and shortly after that I will join the new Zee-Bhaskar publication. I have enjoyed working for The Times as Editor of Bombay Times, and as a sports columnist. It's now time to move on to a more exciting proposition."
Ayaz Memon as Editor-in-large will be part of the Group Editorial Board, which will oversee the editorial function of the newspaper.
About the Zee-Bhaskar's proposed newspaper, he said, "This particular daily is the newest kid on the block and the prospects look bright. We are currently building up the editorial team, and I am looking forward to the new mandate."
Memon has previously been the Editor of Mid-Day and Cricket Talk.
In the next few days a couple of other senior editorial professionals are likely to join the editorial team of the Zee-Bhaskar combines new english daily.
