Exits at Multi Screen Media that started on March 5, 2009 saw some more names added to the list a day later. The company saw many mid-management staff leave the company from across departments. It is understood that there would be a Management Committee Meeting at Multi Screen Media on March 9, when the implications of this development would be discussed. MSM officials are still refraining from offering any comments on these exits.

The environment of anxiety at Multi Screen Media (MSM) continues. The exits that began at the organisation on March 5, 2009 were added to a day later. The company had seen several senior resources leaving on March 5, and it is understood that at least 20 more names from the mid-management level across functions bid adieu to the organisation last Friday. More is expected this week.

MSM officials have not offered any comments on the development so far.

Sources familiar with the situation had informed exchange4media that at least 40 to 50 names would be leaving MSM. The reasons vary from executives leaving the organisation post the exit of long serving CEO Kunal Dasgupta to a mass scale cost rationalising exercise that MSM has undertaken. Sources also informed that the agenda of the Management Committee Meeting at MSM on March 9 included discussing the implication and the way forward for the organisation from here.

A senior company source said, “The dust would settle a little from here. The meeting would see the attendance of heads of all departments and functions, and there would be some clarity on what is next for the organisation.”

In an earlier conversation with exchange4media, MSM’s interim CEO, Man Jit Singh, had said that MSM was actively conversing more with its employees to facilitate better transparency in the organisation. From the look of the current scenario, it would appear that indeed is the need of the hour at MSM.
