IPL’s Deccan Chargers ropes in Dinesh Wadhwa as COO

Following CEO Tim Wright’s departure early this year, Indian Premier League team Deccan Chargers has appointed Dinesh Wadhwa as COO. Wadhwa moves from ICICI Bank, where he was Regional Manager. Meanwhile, shuttler Saina Nehwal has been roped in as brand ambassador for the IPL franchise.

Following CEO Tim Wright’s departure early this year, Indian Premier League team Deccan Chargers has appointed Dinesh Wadhwa as COO. Wadhwa moves from ICICI Bank, where he was Regional Manager. He has taken charge from July 2009.

When contacted, Venkat Reddy, Director - Operations, Deccan Chargers Sporting Ventures Ltd, confirmed Wadhwa’s appointment.

Deccan Chargers, which is owned by Deccan Chronicle, is winner of IPL Season 2 tournament.

Meanwhile, among other developments, Deccan Chargers had roped in badminton champion Saina Nehwal as it first brand ambassador in a three-year deal, Reddy informed.
