It’s official: Sun TV appoints Ajay Vidyasagar as COO

Putting a rest to all guesswork, Sun TV has finally informed Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that it has roped in former STAR India President Ajay Vidyasagar as the Chief Operating Officer with effect from June 15, 2009. exchange4media readers would recall that the speculations have been rife for over two months now that Vidyasagar was likely to head Sun TV.

The Sun Network has finally informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today that the organisation has appointed Ajay Vidyasagar as the Chief Operating Officer, Sun TV, with effect from June 15, 2009. The speculations on this were doing rounds ever since Vidyasagar had quit STAR India in March 2009.

exchange4media readers would recall that in April 2009, various sources from the industry had said that Vidyasagar was headed to Sun TV.

Prior to joining Sun, Vidyasagar was the President STAR India and has 20 years of experience in brand management, content creation, sales and new business. He had joined STAR in 1996, where he was managing consumer marketing, licensing & merchandising for the Indian sub-continent and leading the new media strategy.
