Laxmi Goel quits Zee News Ltd; Punit Goenka appointed as MD

The Board of Directors of Zee News Ltd at its meeting held on July 5, 2010, inter alia, accepted the resignation of Laxmi N Goel as Managing Director of the company. Goel has also stepped down as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Company.

The Board of Directors of Zee News Ltd at its meeting held on July 5, 2010, inter alia, accepted the resignation of Laxmi N Goel as Managing Director of the company. Goel has also stepped down as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Company.

When contacted, Goel told exchange4media, “I was not able to cope up at Zee News Ltd because of a lot of assignments and hence, have decided to quit.”

Meanwhile, the Board also unanimously approved the appointment of Punit Goenka as Managing Director of the company with effect from July 5, 2010.
