Nitin Atroley quits STAR India, STAR One’s Ravi Menon to head Vijay TV
Nitin Atroley, Corporate Affairs, President, STAR India, has decided to move on. Confirming the development, Peter Mukerjea, CEO, STAR India, informed that until a replacement was finalised, the corporate affairs team would report to him directly. In another development, Ravi Menon has traded his programming responsibilities at STAR One to head Vijay TV as General Manager.

Confirming the development, Peter Mukerjea, CEO, STAR India, informed that until a replacement was finalised, the corporate affairs team would report to him directly. In another development, Ravi Menon has traded his programming responsibilities at STAR One to head Vijay TV as General Manager.
Atroley joined STAR in January 2004 with the mandate of overseeing Corporate Affairs and Communications. Prior to this, he was with audit firm Ernst & Young. At present, he is serving his notice period at STAR India, however, details of his destination could not be ascertained.
Menon has been the man behind STAR One programming from the word go. Popular properties like ‘Remix’, ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ and successful ones like ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ came on STAR One under his guidance.
With the changes in content operations at STAR India last year, when both STAR Plus and STAR One came under the supervision of Shailja Kejriwal, Senior Creative Director and Harsh Rohatgi, who was looking after Vijay was promoted as GM, in the Content and Communication function, Menon’s move to Vijay TV was expected. The development finally fructified in February 2006.
“The operations at STAR One are stable now, programming is more or less steady, and we have done some great work for the channel. Vijay TV brings its own challenges and we have some great plans for the channel already,” said Menon.
