Rohit Adya to join Hutchison Essar as COO, Western UP circle
Moving on from his responsibilities as Assistant VP, Media Marketing, Hindustan Times, Rohit Adya is soon to join Hutchison Essar as Chief Operating Officer, Western UP Circle. Industry sources inform that Adya is set to take charge beginning August 2004. In his new role, Adya will be reporting to Rajiv Sawhney, Executive Director, Hutchison Essar.

Adya’s stint at Hindustan Times began in July 2002. Prior to this, he was with Frost & Sullivan, an international marketing research company, for a year. He was operating there in the capacity of Director for the Global Innovation Centre. His tenure there was from September 1, 2001 to June 2002. Before that Adya had spent over one year with Vijay TV. He had joined the channel on February 1, 2000 and resigned in August 2001.
While his experience is substantial, his innings at Times Of India lasted 10 years. He joined the TOI on September 1, 1990 and was there till January 31, 2000.
While for HT he was operating from Mumbai, sources inform that in his new assignment he would be based in Delhi.
