Satish Menon is joining Nimbus as President, Sports and Media. Menon would be resuming his duties from today, and he would be reporting directly to Digvijay Singh, the Singapore-based CEO of Nimbus Sport. This information has been confirmed by reliable sources within the company.
Menon was in the news earlier for side-stepping his decision to join as Publishing Director and Head of Business Group, India Today, on March 6 this year and then eventually not going ahead with the plan for personal reasons.
Instead, he decided to continue as President, Sales and Marketing, Sahara TV group. For a while, Menon was handling the sales, marketing and distribution mandate of SaharaOne.
Menon has spent over 24 years in the media business, with a large share of it in print publishing. He has held significant positions of responsibility at The Week, Sunday Mail and Mid-Day. Moving from print in 1999, Menon joined Zee TV as deputy CEO of Zee News. His responsibility at the group was expanded over a period of time to include the stewardship of Zee Sports, besides an active role in the strategic planning function for the entire group.
When contacted, Menon was unavailable for comment.
