Saumya Bandyopadhyay, currently Joint Editor of Sangbad Pratidin, will be joining Kolkata TV, the Bengali news channel from the Kolkata-based Xenitis Group, as Director - News from July 1, 2006. Bandyopaddhyay began his career with the ABP Group in 1977 and eventually left as Chief of its Delhi Bureau in December 2000. Subsequently, he joined Sangbad Pratidin as Political Editor based in Delhi in 2001 and then shifted to Kolkata as its Joint Editor. As reported earlier, Kolkata TV Editor Suman Chattopadhyay has recently quit.
